Vintage Musical Jewellery/Trinket Box, Wooden, Unique Gift, Vanity Accessories

  

Beautiful, vintage jewellery box with a wind-up musical mechanism and a key. It is made of quality wood, inlaid with an intricate floral pattern veneer, and coated with a glass lacquer, giving it a high gloss finish. Inside, it is lined with bright orange, soft cushioned suede. This item is built to the highest standard and it is in lovely aged condition. Inside it offers a sizeable storage for your trinket.

To keep it all secure, the box is lockable and comes with a single key. This item has a few imperfections, but its overall beauty largely overshadows these flaws.

There is a crack to the lacquer/veneer (not to the wood itself) on the top panel as pictured in photo #10. It follows the grain pattern on the veneer, disguising itself from being immediately noticeable.

Another, the more notable one is a long crack to the lacquer/veneer (not to the wood itself), starting at the right side of the keyhole and stopping at the right corner (photo #1). It also runs with the grain pattern on the veneer, but because the side walls are lighter in colour than the lid, this one is more obvious. Apart from a couple of small marks, the inner lining is in very good condition. The colour is nice and vivid, and fabric still holds firmly in place.

Once you turn this item upside down, you'll notice that the veneer around the edges has started to peel off. At this point, this is very minor and doesn't require any intervention. When the box is the right way up, you can't see it at all. The musical mechanism is in good working order.

Every now and again, the little push/stop button (underneath the back edge of the lid) doesn't come up when the box opens, and it needs a little help. It only requires a gentle pull back up and it works.

Overall, this piece looks fantastic and has got a plenty more years of use to offer. L 31 cm x W 16.5 cm x H 7 cm. Note: Vintage items have been around for some time, and some imperfections are likely. I aim to describe my items as closely and accurately as possible.
