REGINA STYLE 40 MUSIC BOX. Plays Size 15.5 Disks. A very nice Regina Style 40 music box, made around 1905 in New Jersey. As you know, Regina was the American subsidiary of Germany's Polyphon, and they were extremely successful in building some of the finest, best-sounding and durable music boxes ever made.

They remain in high demand to this day. This music box is housed in a polished mahogany "upright" case, with substantial storage below for many disks. Overall condition is excellent, with a small seam separation on the right side, hardly noticeable, as shown in the pictures. The front doors open to reveal a storage rack that slides out, which can hold over 100 disks. The musical movement is one patented and perfected by Regina, comprising a short bedplate with double combs that transfers the sound to the sound board with surprising improvement in volume and resonance over earlier designs.

The duplex combs on this piece are in excellent condition, with no broken or replaced teeth, no damper squeaks, and the leads underneath (used for tuning) are in perfect condition. You will have a musical movement that will last many years without needing servicing. We will supply 10 original 15.5 disks for your listening pleasure.
