ORPHEUS SANKYO 50 note wood Music Box The Blue Danube & Invitation to the Dance

  
This is a very fine Sankyo Orpheus Music Box. Much desired by collectors, this box has a 50 note musical movement mechanism that plays "The Blue Danube Waltz" by Straus and "Invitation to the Dance" by Weber. Both are classic musical compositions recognizable by millions around the world. "Invitation to the Dance" is also known by balletomines as the score for the famous Vaslav Nijinsky ballet "Le Spectre de la Rose".

The box is made of mahogany wood. This is truly a very high-quality, musical piece for the music lover and/or music box collector. With wood casing, the glass top of the interior shows the musical mechanism to full advantage, while protecting the movement. The Sankyo "Orpheus" music box has a very deep sound true to its name.

Sankyo reproduced the "nailing" technology which means "driving nails into the cylinder of music box". The European 19th century nailing technology has been enhanced by their skilled craftsmen. CONDITION: Item(s) : The original box will be included in the sale.
