ERZGEBIRGE Wendt Kuhn THORENS Music Box Nursery Carved Wood East Germany

  
It is an unique work of art, hand crafted from wood and hand painted. It features a girl with a baby cradle and white rabbit being together in a room. This beautifully detailed music box was made in the Erzgebirge region in the former East Germany by the famous company "Wendt & Kuhn".

The musical movement is a swiss THORENS movement. The sound is bright and clear and it plays very well: "Brahm's Lullaby". To wind it up, just turn the key on the side clockwise. Pull the knob on the bottom and the music starts.

The music box is in great condition. There are paint chips, though, mainly on the edges and rim. There are also the 2 rear feet missing, so it does not stand on the table.

It needs to be mount to the wall. Otherwise it is super nice, the paint is still bright and shiny! Please look at all pictures and zoom in. Dates to the early 1950s. It measures about 7 1/2" tall and 4 1/2" wide, 3 1/2 deep. Comes from a clean and smoke free home. Please ask, if you have any questions about this item!
