For your consideration is this lovely vintage Music Box from Germany. It is an unique work of art, hand crafted from wood and hand painted. It features a dark blue base with stars and four angels and a crib: one is playing an instrument, one is singing and 2 are praying. This beautifully detailed music box was made in the Erzgebirge region in the former East Germany by the famous company "Wendt & Kuhn". When the music is playing, the pole with the 5 smaller angels rotates. The musical movement is a swiss THORENS movement. The sound is bright and clear and it plays very well: "Ihr Kinderlein kommet". There is a slight clicking to hear when the music plays, but it kind of blends into the music. To wind the music box up, just turn the key on the side clockwise. There is a working stopper on the side, too. The music box is in excellent condition and complete. The paint is in fantastic shape, but there are a few tiny paint chips on the little angels and the praying angel on the left has one on her hand.

Please look at all pictures and zoom in. Dates to the early 1980s and is marked with the red Erzgebirge/expertic label from that time period. It measures about 9 1/2" tall and 5" wide.
