For your consideration is this lovely vintage Music Box from Germany. It is an unique work of art, hand crafted from wood and hand painted. It features a dark blue base with stars and four angels and a crib: one is playing an instrument, one is singing and 2 are praying. This beautifully detailed music box was made in the Erzgebirge region in the former East Germany by the famous company "Wendt & Kuhn".

When the music is playing, the pole with the 5 smaller angels rotates. The musical movement is a swiss THORENS movement. The sound is bright and clear and it plays very well: "Oh you joyful". To wind it up, just turn the key on the side clockwise. There is a working stopper on the side, too.

The music box is in excellent condition and complete. The paint is in fantastic shape, but there are a couple paint chips on the base, star and a tiny one on a blue wing. Please look at all pictures and zoom in. Dates to the 1980s and is marked with the round Erzgebirge label from that time period. It measures about 9 1/2" tall and 5" wide.
