CUENDET Hand Carved Swiss Wood Music Jewelry Box

  

Beautiful hand carved Swiss musical jewelry box. This exceptional vintage piece is in immaculate condition both inside and out.

It is a unique design and opens much like a sewing box. When closed the box measures approx. 6" by 5" and about 5 ¼ tall. The top of the lid and front of the box are carved with a flower motif.

The hinged lid has a lock but missing key. When opened the inside is lined with tufted pink satin. The small brass brads form a deep pillow bottom. The inside lid has a mirror lined with the pink satin rope. The satin is in pristine condition.

The mirror is in pristine condition. The second latch releases the lower portion that houses the musical movement. It is divided into two compartments, one of which is lined with the pink satin. The other side has a 36 note CUENDET SWITZERLAND movement. It plays clear and perfectly.

I believe this is playing 2 different tunes, one after the other on the cylinder. This one is a real beauty for the collector!
