Depicts a well-dressed standing man in Austrian style; he has an expressive face, blue eyes, a big handlebar mustache, is wearing a lidded cap marked "VIENNA PORTER, " and a cravat and long greatcoat; he has large shoes; has colors of grey, red, yellow, tan. Has a custom top lid- his head, which lifts/ twists off, and is tightly fitted to the bottle which is built into the body. When removed the head reveals the cork stopper; the inside of the base is hollowed out and contains the fitted glass bottle. Has a Swiss Reuge MUSIC BOX built into the base, which is activated by a brake button on the underside; when the key is wound, the music box is activated- it plays a lovely air, "The Bear Went Over the Mountain;". Has an elevated base supported by the two large shoes; the underside has the winder key and the access panel to the music box.

The VIENNA PORTER WOODEN DECANTER MUSIC BOX Black Forest is in very good condition, noting. The music box works and plays a bit slowly- the brake is partially functioning. Condition status includes minimal normal wear and rubbing.

Swiss wood carvers became world renowned and featured at many international exhibitions. In Europe, Black Forest carvings (wares) became a symbol of luxury and wealth.
