Vintage Reuge Carousel Music Box (Minuet & Blue Danube). A gift fit for Royalty! This vintage Reuge carousel music box is a one-of-a-kind item. Made from bright brass and fine-grained exotic wood, this music box plays both Mozarts Minuet (Menuet) and Strass Blue Danube (Le Bleu Danube). The performance starts with the doors in the open position.

Upon pressing the button on the side, the ballerina spins to Mozart as the doors slowly close. After Minuet, Strauss waltz is played, and the doors gently reopen. There are two positions where the door mechanism can be placed, and it is likely that, with the aid of an expert, you can change the order of the door movement. Brass architecture surrounds rich reddish-brown stained paneling (almost a deep cherrywood).

A tiny ballerina turns in time with the movement. The wind is at the bottom. While these music boxes were intended for cigarettes, perhaps they would be perfectly well suited for lipstick or candy canes!

The movement works without flaw or hitch, and the two songs, consistent with Reuges movements, are joyful and rich. This would make the most splendid gift! I have lubricated the movement with a high-grade synthetic low viscosity oil made for small moving parts to help it last for many years to come! The movement works without flaw or hitch. There are some very light spots of surface wear and aging that are exceedingly minimal and not very noticeable.
