ERZGEBIRGE Steinbach Christmas Santa Music Box THORENS Wood Germany
For your consideration is this beautiful vintage Music Box from Germany. It is an unique work of art, hand crafted from wood and hand painted. It features a Christmas Scene with Santa and Deer. This cute music box was made in the Erzgebirge region in the former East Germany by the famous STEINBACH company.
When the music is playing, the entire platform with all figurines rotates. The musical movement is a swiss THORENS movement.
The sound is bright and clear and it plays very well "Jingle Bells". To wind it up, turn the key underneath clockwise.There is a working stopper on the side, too. The music box is in excellent condition and complete. Some spots on Santa's robe, where the paint is cracking. There is also a small crack in the base, right between the trees.
Please look at all pictures for condition and zoom in. Is marked with the Thorens label and the green Steinbach label from 1946 to 1949. Measures: about 5 3/4" tall and 4 1/2" at the wide. Comes from a clean and smoke free home.
